Since 1983, the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago (CHIC) has prided itself on a European approach to the culinary arts. Today, with an intensive, hands-on curriculum modeled after Le Cordon Bleu program—the authority in the techniques and applications of cooking – they are considered a leader in U.S. culinary schools. Classes are taught by professional chefs in fully modernized learning kitchens and laboratories.

Located at 361 West Chestnut, Chicago, IL, CHIC is accredited by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology and American Culinary Federation Accrediting Commission.
In connection with Le Cordon Bleu, CHIC offers Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Program. Graduates receive an Associates Degree after completing a broad spectrum of coursework, including classes in baking and pastry and management.
There is also Le Cordon Bleu Patisserie & Baking Program. These students will master numerous baking and pastry skills plus they will be encouraged to flex their creative muscles and think of innovative ways to succeed in this competitive field.
Since the number of students who apply to CHIC exceeds enrollment (currently
978 full-time students), the school must adhere to the following admission guidelines: Students must fill out both an application and an enrollment agreement (including a registration fee of $150), and have proof of a high school education (or GED equivalent). Some applicants may be asked to take a placement exam. CHIC will work in tandem with students who have difficulty covering tuition costs. Upon request, qualified staff will assist with financial planning.
